Florian Volery

Since 2020, Florian Volery has played a key role in shaping the Liqwid protocol, contributing to its product vision, business architecture, governance framework, and community development. As one of Cardano's premier DeFi platforms, Liqwid has benefited from his leadership in strategic development, where he works closely with the technical team. He has also been instrumental in aligning the technical, business, and risk functions to enhance operational scalability. Florian is deeply engaged in protocol governance, fundraising, and ecosystem outreach, with a mission to build a more inclusive financial system—where blockchain technology strengthens and modernizes traditional finance infrastructure.

Earlier in his career, Florian held several leadership roles in financial services and consulting. At Ernst & Young in Zurich, he led regulatory and strategy projects for Tier-1 banks, including MiFID II implementation and Brexit-related reorganizations. He also worked in internal audit at Generali Insurance and began his career in audit and advisory at EY Geneva, with a strong focus on private banking, asset management, and investment funds. Over five years, he managed audit teams and advised more than 30 financial institutions on governance, compliance, and risk management.

Florian is a Swiss Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master's degree in Accounting, Controlling, and Finance from HEC Lausanne, where he also earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He speaks French (native), English (fluent), and German (fluent), and brings a rare blend of blockchain expertise, corporate finance experience, and cross-sector leadership. His mission is to bridge traditional finance with decentralized infrastructure to enable more efficient and resilient capital markets.
